Education

education is everything

Nepal’s recent secondary education data reveals that approximately 32% of students nationwide do not progress beyond Grade 10—with even higher dropout or non-attendance rates at all levels among rural or marginalized communities. (Flash I Report, 2081, (2024/25).

When children don’t attend school or drop out of school, they typically are limited to end up in low-skilled employment to support their families, perpetuating cycles of poverty and vulnerability for their families. They are also at risk of child marriage, trafficking and child labour.

However, when families receive support for schooling and students are motivated to continue their studies, they are significantly more likely to complete their education and gain access to better opportunities in the future.

What We Do?

Our education program provides family support through sponsorship, covering essential school expenses including uniforms, books, and supplies. Working closely with school management committees, we identify and support students most at risk of dropping out—including those from marginalised communities, economically disadvantaged families, children from single-parent or orphaned situations, disaster-affected children, and children with disabilities. This sponsorship helps motivate students to remain in school, and we take pride in celebrating their completion and supporting their next steps, whether pursuing employment or further education.

15 government schools have received assistance through our Connections Program, where volunteers from abroad visited to paint classrooms and conduct classes.
