16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence & 31th International Day of Persons with Disability marked

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual campaign that begins on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs through International Human Rights Day on 10 December.

This year, the 16 days campaign against Gender-Based Violence (GBVs) marked under the GOAL II and PERCAV at Rolpa and Pyuthan with the theme “UNiTE! Activism to end violence against women and girls”. The objective of the event encouraging everyone to strengthening feminist movements, act to empower survivors, reduce and prevent violence against women and girls, and protect women’s rights. An various awareness and sensitization activities such as mass rally, interaction workshop, quiz contest, songs and oratory were organized with the involvement of the representatives of municipality and rural municipality, ward offices, departments, co-operatives, mother groups, networks and development partners. The events were marked jointly in collaboration and coordination with local levels and women networks as well.

Meanwhile, 31th International Day of Persons with Disability (IDPD) marked at Rolpa and Pyuthan on 3rd December 2022 with the slogan of “Transformative solution for inclusive development, the role of innovation in fuelling as accessible and equitable world”. This events organized jointly in collaboration and coordination with local levels and disable peoples networks The Persons with Disability, guardians/care takers, representatives of municipality and rural municipality, ward offices, sectoral departments, networks and development partners were attended in the event. There was handed over the assistive devices and livelihood support to them for ease and improvement of daily life

The GOAL-II and PERCAV projects is funded by the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and implemented by ADRA Nepal in partnership with FIRDO Nepal Pyuthan, and RUDAS Nepal Rolpa at Pyuthan and Rolpa.
