We have nearly three decades of experience in operating health programs that are designed and implemented in aligned with the Government of Nepal’s health strategy paper and on a need based approach to ensure sustainable impact on the target group.
Under our health portfolio, family planning is promoted rapidly through implant/intrauterine, contraceptive insertion/removal and strengthening capacity of service providers in cooperation with government health posts. Also, safe motherhood drives provide, birth preparedness packages and knowledge on maternal health from pregnancy to neo-natal care. Regarding the HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases and menstrual problems, specialized training sessions and discussion groups are formed to disseminate knowledge mostly among the adolescent and women groups.
Under direct coordination with the government of Nepal, Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) training is given to adolescent friendly sites which are then certified. ADRA Nepal also operates medical camps through which uterine prolapse orientation training and free surgeries among others are provided to those in need.
Programs encourage cascade learning by including government appointed female community health volunteers and health facility operation management committees during the trainings. Further, ADRA Nepal has experience in building health infrastructure such as birthing centers and health posts in rural communities of Nepal.
