The devastating earthquake in Jajarkot last year severely disrupted healthcare services, leaving many vulnerable, including women like Tika Sharma, 31, from West Rukum. For over a decade, Tika silently suffered from uterine prolapse, enduring pelvic pain, bladder control issues, and constant discomfort. Fear of judgment and the already limited access to healthcare—further worsened by the earthquake—kept her from seeking help. A turning point came when a Female Community Health Volunteer connected her with ADRA Nepal's Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) camp, established to support earthquake-affected communities. There, Tika received life-changing treatment and guidance. Now pain-free and empowered, she advocates for women’s health, inspiring others in her community to seek care and rebuild their lives.

Sarita Chalaune, 38, from Runtigadhi, Palasini, faced poverty, domestic challenges, and traditional farming constraints. Her life changed after joining ADRA Nepal's GOAL-II project, where she learned sustainable farming techniques like mulching, biopesticides, and Integrated Plant Nutrient Management (IPNM). By adopting these practices, she expanded her farm from 2 to 5 ropanis, increasing her income significantly, with plans to earn over NPR 700,000 next year. The Holeri Agriculture Collection Center supported her collective marketing efforts, boosting community engagement in modern agriculture. With improved income, Sarita provides better education and healthcare for her family and shares her knowledge to inspire other farmers.

​ Anima Chaudhary, 29, from Bardiya, faced years of hardship fetching water and dealing with contamination despite installing a handpump. The water caused health issues like diarrhea and stomach pain, while yellowing teeth and clothes added to the challenges. In 2023, the Health Reform Project by ADRA Nepal and partners introduced a Pure Drinking Water System, transforming her family’s health and quality of life. Initially hesitant, Anima learned about the system’s benefits and became an advocate for clean water. Her efforts inspired her community to adopt the system, and she hopes similar solutions will reach other parts of her village.
