Orientation on PSEAH organized

A two batch of orientation on Preventing Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH) was organized from 12-15 November 2022 at Holeri Rolpa and Bhingri Pyuthan under the GOAL-II project with aiming of sensitizing and capacitated project staff and Women Human Right Defenders (WHRDs) on PSEAH. Total 77 (22 Male and 55 female) participants from Executive representatives and project staff from Fulvari Integrated Rural Development Organization (FIRDO Nepal), Rural Development and Awareness Society (RUDAS Nepal), and staff from the women and children departments of both local governments have participated enthusiastically. The sessions on the introduction and concept of sex, gender, gender-based violence, PSEAH, reporting system, complaints and feedback handling mechanisms, and ADRA Nepal policy were highlighted. Events facilitated by Karuna Baral (Gender and Safeguaring officer of ADRA Nepal) and Purna Lal Shrestha (Senior Project Officer of ADRA Nepal) with applying the adult-based learning approaches (brainstorming, experience sharing, group discussion, case studies, and presentation). Demonstration sessions on PSEAH were facilitated by WHRDs and project staff in the farmer group to replicate the learnings and knowledge of orientation. Finally, WHRDs and the project team developed the action plan for delivering the orientation on PSEAH at the group level to disseminate widely in the community also.   

The GOAL-II project is funded by the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and ADRA Australia and implemented by ADRA Nepal in partnership with FIRDO Nepal Pyuthan, and RUDAS Nepal Rolpa from July 2019 at Swargadwari municipality of Pyuthan and Runtigadhi rural municipality of Rolpa.
