Bringing women and other marginalized groups into technology results in more creative solutions and has greater potential for innovations that meet women’s needs and promote gender equality. “Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls.” Hence, the 113th International Women’s day was celebrated with ADRA’s GOAL II and PERCAV projects in Rolpa and Pyuthan on 8th March 2023, with the theme “Digital all: Innovation Technology for Gender Equality.” The event aimed to encourage everyone to talk about strengthening the women’s empowerment movement and equal opportunities. Various awareness and sensitization activities such as mass rallies, interaction workshops, quiz contests, and speeches were organized with the involvement of the representatives of the local level (municipality and rural municipality), ward offices, co-operatives, mother groups, networks, and development partners. The event was organized in collaboration and coordination with local levels and women’s networks. Meanwhile, all competitors were recognized with prizes and tokens of love for participating in the events.
The GOAL-II and PERCAV projects are funded by the Australian Government and implemented by ADRA Nepal in partnership with FIRDO Nepal Pyuthan, and RUDAS Nepal Rolpa at Pyuthan and Rolpa.
