ADRA Nepal in coordination with the Janakpur Provincial Hospital has recently started a dedicated operation theatre to handle gynecological cases of women. The operation theatre was jointly inaugurated by Kavitha Kasyanathan (Head of Development, Australian Embassy), Dr Mukti Narayan Sah (Health Section Chief, Ministry of Social Development, Madhesh Province) and Dr Nawal Kishor Sah (Vice Chancellor, Madhesh Institute of Health Science, Janakpur). The dedicated operation theater will reduce the case load handled by the current operation theatres and provide easier access to health care services of hospital to women suffering from pelvic organ prolapse and other gynecological issues. The equipment and instruments for the operation theatre were supported by the Australian Aid and Open Heart International.
