Paribartan CHANGE

The project promotes climate-resilient agriculture through Climate Field Schools for 100 farmer groups (2,300 households), led by trained lead farmers. Focus areas include vegetable and goat farming. Ultra-poor and landless families will access leased land, livelihood assets (e.g., goat kids), and infrastructure support to foster inclusive resilience.

To improve market access and financial inclusion, Farmer Market Schools link farmers with market actors and financial services, while infrastructure and cooperative engagement will enhance access to quality inputs. Partnerships with technicians, cooperatives, and agro-vet services further support local productivity.

At the institutional level, the project promotes climate action planning through weather stations, climate and hazard profiling, and development of Community based Adaptation Plans (CBAP) by farmer groups and implemented in collaboration with municipal governments.

A strong focus on social equity and inclusion ensures meaningful participation of women, persons with disabilities, and marginalized groups. Human rights defenders and advocacy networks will amplify their voices, while gender-responsive budgeting and skill-building initiatives promote economic independence.

The project aligns with Nepal’s Agriculture Development Strategy, Climate Change Policy, National Adaptation Plan, and other national frameworks. It also supports DFAT’s Nepal strategy by embedding equity in climate adaptation, fostering green livelihoods, and promoting inclusive, sustainable development
