ADRA works in more than 135 countries around the world and has been working in Nepal since 1987 with its Health interventions, Economic Development and Livelihood, Education, and Disaster Risk Management activities. ADRA Nepal is seeking an experienced professional to work as a Team Leader for Disaster Risk Management (DRM), this position will focus on strengthening local government to implement more disaster resilient buildings, planning, infrastructure and services; and supporting national level government to develop, prepare Risk Sensitive Land Use Planning, implement and monitor policy on disaster resilience.
Qualification and Competencies:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field especially in DRM, international development, urban planning & resilience, engineering, climate smart disaster resilience etc.
- Expertise in leadership and program management with experience and progressive responsibility managing donor initiatives, working experience with USAID would be an additional asset.
- Demonstrated skills and experience managing complex development programmes of a similar size and complexity.
- At least 10 years professional experience in programme management within a development organization national/international NGO along with experiences on DRM, humanitarian assistance, climate change resilience and in advocacy at national and regional level.
