The 30th anniversary of ADRA Nepal was celebrated amidst a function in Kathmandu on 28th March 2018.
Chief Guest of the Program Mr. Jonathan Duffy, president of ADRA International inaugurated the program. Addressing the program, Mr. Duffy thanked the Nepal government for providing an opportunity to work with disaster-affected communities, poor and vulnerable people for last three decades. He acknowledged all stakeholders for their partnership and cooperation. “ADRA Nepal’s projects have been very successful because of the support of the government and readiness of people to maximize utilization of resources,” he shared, “I am happy to see that resources have been effectively used here.”
He also expressed wishes to ADRA Nepal for its progress in serving the people of Nepal in future.
On the occasion, Chairperson of Association of INGOs in Nepal (AIN) Dr. Shibesh Chandra Regmi congratulated ADRA Nepal for successful completion of 30 years despite administrative hurdles for INGOs to work in Nepal.
On the occasion, CEO of ADRA UK Mr. Birt Smit, Regional Director of ADRA Asia Mr. Mark Webster, former minister for General Administration Mr. Yubaraj Karki, Director of Department of Health Services Dr. Ramesh Kumar Kharel, and Program Manager of iDE UK Ms. Samina Bunker, congratulated ADRA Nepal for the competition of 30 years and also extended their wishes for it’s continuous success in the days to come.
ADRA Nepal Program Director Ms. Bidya Mahat shared major milestone of ADRA Nepal in last 30 years. On the occasion, Dr. Salil Bhattarai, Livelihood Team Leader of ADRA Nepal shared the overview of the project namely Enhancing Livelihoods of Smallholder Farmers in Central Terai Districts of Nepal (ELIVES) that has recently been completed.
ADRA Nepal Country Director Dr. Josue Orellana thanked all the participants for their valuable presence in the event. Reaffirming commitment on behalf of ADRA Nepal to continue service in Nepal, he thanked all the stakeholders for their contribution to enable ADRA Nepal to arrive to this stage.
