Bimal Gadal has a recognition of being a passionate humanitarian & development professional in Nepal- bringing technical leadership, strategic visioning and management expertise at program and policy front. Thematically, he is well equipped with the knowledge and skills on disaster risk management and climate change adaption, watershed management, transboundary water governance and river basin program, food security, livelihood and inclusive economy, gender and protection, good governance, human rights, social inclusion and conflict management. In the past, he has spent significant amount of time working on agriculture value chain including fresh vegetable, seed, rice, and lentil.
By education, he has persuaded a Master’s Degree in Sustainable International Development from the Heller School, Brandeis University, USA, Master’s Degree in Sociology & Anthropology and Bachelors’ Degree in Agriculture Science from Tribhuvan University in Nepal. Before coming to ADRA, he worked with Oxfam as a Program Director for Sustainable Development Program followed by a Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change Adaptation Program Manager. He has 21 years of proven professional experience in the sectors mentioned above and has worked in Thailand, Lao PDR and in Nepal.
