Sworgadwari municipality ward no 5 in Pyuthan district has been declared as child marriage- free village.The declaration was made amidst a function on 20 December 2017 at Sworgadwari municipality ward no 5 Sari in presence of government representatives and local stakeholders. The declaration was made in amidst a program jointly organized by District Child Welfare Committee and District Women and Children Office of Pyuthan, Sworgadwari Municipality (Pyuthan) ward no 5, Good Governance and Livelihood (GOAL) project, Save the children and Kalika Development Centre.
A rally was also organized to mark the campaign that was participated by enterprise education groups, mother’s groups, cooperatives, schools, representatives of the municipality and supporting agencies. The rally converted into a gathering after passing through the villages. Member of the Federal Parliament of province no 5, Mr. Hari Rijal addressed the gathering. The rally delivered the messages on the abolition of child rights, child-based violence, child education rights, anti-early child marriage through play cards. Around 500 people participated in the event. GOAL project under ADRA Nepal, funded by Australian Government DFAT, has been conducting Day Celebration events to sensitize local stakeholders and communities on various social and environmental issues.
