Co-operative Annual General Meeting Conducted

ADRA Nepal is implementing the Sustainable Women's Economic Development (SWEDs) Project currently in 3 districts of Nepal. This project is funded by ADRA Australia and has 18 co-operatives promoted and registered in Kavre, Bara and Rupandehi districts. The Jharana Saving and Credit Co-operative conducted their first annual general meeting of it’s kind on 13th November, 2009. This co-operative is located in Kusadevi Village Development Committee ward no.4, Kavre. Currently, 98 shareholder members and 40 children are involved in this co-operative. The total capital of this co-operative is NPRs. 104,700/-.
The shareholder members, child saving members, social workers, and representatives of neighboring co-operatives, schools and ADRA Nepal attended the meeting. On this occasion, the co-operative awarded public recognition to two senior women shareholders, Mrs. Padam Kumari Humagain and Mrs. Thuli Maya Tamang. The cooperative also provided an appreciation letter to ADRA Nepal for their valuable support and contribution to establish the cooperative.
Cooperative progress report, audit report and the following years financial plan was shared during the meeting and 11 new boards of director members were elected. The saving box was distributed to the children members, which was facilitated by ADRA Nepal.
