Two separate inception workshops on “Generating Opportunities in Agriculture and Livelihoods (GOAL-II)” project were held in Sworgadwari Municipality of Pyuthan and Runtigadhi Rural Municipality of Rolpa on 6th and 7th November, 2019 respectively. GOAL II is a five year project funded by Australian Government and implemented by ADRA Nepal through its local partners.
Stakeholders including mayor, chairperson, deputy-mayor, vice-chairperson, chief executive officer, ward chairpersons, secretary and heads of various municipal departments among other attended the meeting. Various aspects of the project including designing, approach, outcomes, activities, budget and sustainability were discussed during the workshops.
On the occasion, Sworgadwari Municipality Mayor Netra Bahadur Rokaya, appreciated the project that was designed after rigorous consultation and as per need of the community. In another event, Runtigadhi Rural Municipality Chairperson Balaram Buddha expressed that the project would play an important role to uplift the livelihoods of people in the communities.
GOAL-II project is being implemented in partnership with NGOs namely Rupantaran, FIRDO Nepal and RUDAS Nepal from 2019 to 2024.
