Sponsor a Child to Go to School for One Year in Nepal (EDUCATION)
Currently, not even half of Nepal's women can read or write. Many females are illiterate and are unable to attend school. Often, these girls without schooling are forced to marry while still in their early teens. Nepali children are desperate to attend school, but their parents often are unable to afford the fees or use their limited incomes to send only boys to school. ADRA is implementing the United for Education project to provide scholarships to children in need, especially girls. Your gift will cover all school fees, uniforms, and supplies necessary for one child to attend school for one year.

Hygiene kits for flood victims ( EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT)
When a natural disaster occurs, such as flood or landslide, affected people immediately become homeless and lose their personal belongings. Apart from immediate requirements such as food and water, they also need basic hygiene kits to protect their families from malaria and other contagious diseases. Hygiene kits in anticipation of emergency response include mosquito nets, soap, floor mats, and other essential items. Your contribution will fund the purchase of these kits, in particular mosquito nets, that will protect at least one child from malaria and dengue fever.

Biogas cooking stove for environmental protection (ENVIRONMENT)
About 91% of the energy demand in Nepal is met from traditional sources such as wood, agricultural byproducts, and animal waste. In relation to the nation's energy demand and people's purchasing capacity, biogas technology is one of the most reliable, effective alternative energy sources used for cooking and lighting. It consists of a mixture of methane carbon dioxide and is generated through the digestion of cattle and human excretion. Installing a biogas plant will help a family to preserve the forest, improve their health by reducing respiratory and eye infections, and increase agriculture production by using compost waste.

Changing lives of women with Uterine Prolapse in Nepal (HEALTH)
600,000 women in Nepal are affected by the major reproductive health problem of uterine prolapse. 200,000 urgently require surgical treatment. This painful condition is aggravated by unsafe birth practices, lack of birth spacing, and heavy labor such as carrying firewood and water too soon after delivery. Nepali women have kept silent about uterine prolapse for decades. Women experience painful symptoms, sexual discomfort, and marital violence, but significant shame, loss of self-esteem and confidence, and a reduced reproductive life. Your small contribution towards life changing surgery will positively change the lives of these women.

Water pump for a Nepali community (WATER AND SANITATION)
Safe drinking water is a basic human necessity and is fundamental to health, growth, and development. Nepal has the poorest drinking water and sanitation in South Asia, even though it is rich in fresh water resources. According to a Nepal Living Standard Survey of 2003-2004, piped water serves only 44% of the population and less than 3% of the poorest have access to piped water sources. Drinking water quality is a major issue. Most drinking water is contaminated with fecal Coliform bacteria and other harmful microbes. Many people from poor and excluded groups live in areas without access to safe, reliable drinking water. Your gift will support the installation of a water pump in a village which will provide safe drinking water to at least 30 people in the community.
