“Gender equality is neither woman’s issue nor of men alone. It’s about creating co-existence. Knowingly or unknowingly we are having stereotyped feeling about gender,” said Gajendra Shah who works at Bagmati Welfare Society, a NGO working in Sarlahi, “to change the society, first we need to change our own values.”

He shared his experience after attending Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Assessment training organized by ADRA Nepal to capacitate ADRA Staff members, and representatives of its partner organizations.

“Now I have a better understanding of personality types and it’s importance to know before we approach anyone,” said Pralhad Sharma of Sheer Memorial Hospital.

The training was conducted in Training in Hetauda from 24-26 July 2019 under Women’s Health and System Strengthening (WHaSS) funded by Australian Aid and Open Heart International.
