21st Earthquake Safety Day (ESD) was marked in Naubahini-8 Phopli of Pyuthan district on 16th January 2019 with the slogan ‘Committed government at all levels to ensure the citizen’s right to safety from disaster’.
The purpose of events was to raise awareness in community on earthquake preparedness through sensitization. The event was jointly organized by ADRA Nepal, Rupantaran and FIRDO Nepal in coordination with Community Disaster Management Committee (CDMCs) that was established in the facilitation of Good Governance and Livelihood (GOAL) project.
Meanwhile, a mock drill on emergency management including early warning system, first aid with light search and rescue was organized on the similar occasion. Members of CDMCs as well as community people participated in the event. The event was coordinated by CDMCs and facilitated by GOAL project.
