ADRA Nepal has launched Generating Opportunities in Agriculture and Livelihoods project (GOAL II) in two districts of Province five. GOAL II is a follow up project that embeds experiences and learning from Good Governance and Livelihood (GOAL) project that completed recently.
The project is implemented in Swargadwari of Pyuthan Municipality and Runtigadhi Rural Municipality of Rolpa district reaching 89,000 people including primary, secondary and tertiary beneficiaries in the area of agricultural development, rural development and ending violence against women and girls.
The expected project outcomes are increased engagement of poor and vulnerable groups, particularly women and people living with disability in resilient and market-led livelihood options; improved access of agriculture entrepreneurs to business development services, inputs and outputs markets; creation of enabling environment by local government and stakeholders for increased resilience and inclusive development; and improved access of agriculture entrepreneurs to business development services, inputs and outputs markets.
The five year project is funded by Australian Government through Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and ADRA Australia. ADRA Nepal will implement the project in partnership with Rupantaran, Fulvari Integrated Rural Development Organization Nepal and Rural Awareness and Development Society.
Meanwhile, workshop on Detail Implementation Plan of the project was conducted in Bhingri of Pyuthan district on 2 August along with in-house and partner consultation till 5 August.
