The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) is a global humanitarian agency that seeks to identify and address social distortions and deprivation in developing countries. Through its international network ADRA, works in more than 130 countries with people in poverty and distress to create just and positive change through empowering partnerships and responsible action. ADRA has been active in Nepal since 1987 with a successful portfolio of Livelihood (Agriculture and Economic Development), Disaster Risk Management, Humanitarian Response, Health and Education Program serving to the unreached population in the remotest villages of Nepal.
ADRA Nepal will be implementing a short-term COVID Recovery project entitled Livelihood and Economic Recovery of Corona Crisis Affected Families (LERC) – 2021. The main objective of this project is to enhance the coping capacity of vulnerable communities of Dhading, Mahottari and Dhanusha district to absorb economic shocks and stresses due to the COVID-19 pandemic through identification of early recovery needs, livelihood input support, strengthening lead farmers and capacity building and support on non-agricultural livelihoods.
ADRA Switzerland collaborates with ADRA Nepal, Resource Identification and Management Society (RIMS) Nepal, and Community Development and Advocacy Forum Nepal (CDAFN) for planning and implementation of COVID-19 response and recovery project in Dhading, Mahottari, and Dhanusha districts of Nepal supported by Swiss Solidarity. The main objective of the project is to enhance the coping capacity of vulnerable communities of Dhading, Mahottari, and Dhanusha district to absorb economic shocks and stresses due to the COVID-19 pandemic and has two outcomes; (1) Stabilized and/or increased consumption of nutritious food by women, men, girls, and boys impacted by COVID-19 economic effects, (2) Protected, strengthened, or diversified livelihoods of households impacted by COVID-19 effects. Furthermore, the project designed three outputs that will contribute towards these outcomes as follows:
- Output 1.1: 1,200 vulnerable HHs supported through cash transfer for 1 months.
- Output 2.1: 1,500 vulnerable HHs supported through electronic vouchers for livelihood inputs and other productive resources.
- Output 2.2: Enhanced knowledge of male and female participants on the utilization of livelihood inputs received from the project.
Interested consultant (firm/consultants) are requested to apply with their expression of interest showing past experiences in similar work and proposed approach with technical and financial proposal to deliver this assignment within 28 April 2021.
