ADRA Nepal has handed over birthing centers to two health posts in Sarlahi district. Birthing centers were built by ADRA Nepal in Simra health post and Sekhauna health post in partnership with Bagamati Sewa Samaj and respective rural municipalities. The birthing centers were established through the financial assistance from Help International under Health System Strengthening project.
“Pregnant women were compelled to deliver babies at home, now the construction of birthing center with sufficient rooms and necessary equipment has allowed for risk-free birthing in their own community,” said Ram Shree Sah, chairman of Dhankaul Rural Municipality during a hand over ceremony at Sikhauna Health Post.
With these two birthing centers, the total number of the health posts ADRA Nepal has been supporting through construction, renovation and equipment has reached 11.
“Sarlahi district is our priority district, we have supported to the health posts that are in the critical needs for birthing center to improve maternal and child health in the district,” said Bidya Mahat Program Director of ADRA Nepal
