ADRA Nepal is recognized as; a lead support agency in assisting district level Disaster Preparedness and Response Planning (DPRP) initiatives; a member of national platform on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and climate change; a part of working and technical committees on Government DRR Flagships, Community Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM), School and Hospital Safety and Humanitarian Accountability including promotion of Core Humanitarian Standards/Sphere.

Our DRM portfolio is multidisciplinary; a current Climate Change and DRR program aims to reach 100,000 families and an integrated program with the Livelihood sector is improving disaster resilience of 40,000 people. Implementation is done as per direction from country strategy paper under applied global framework and standard set by the government of Nepal, the United Nations resolutions for Sustainable Development, Sendai Framework for DRR (SFDRR) and Climate Change as they are the key reference point for policy and delivery in this sector.

Our emergency response to the Nepal earthquake of 2015; involved providing direct assistance to over 150,000 families in close co-ordination with the Nepal government. Together with our over 20 years’ experience in Disaster Risk Management (DRM) sector we have the capability to respond to and tackle any kind of disaster.
